I just added a new Arowana to my grow out tiny tank. Don't worry the fish will be move to a 120-150 gallon tank next week. Could you identify it please? Tips and tricks?
Thank you, i'm so stoked.

most tips and tricks are in the stickies uptop of the arowana subforum. best of luck with him and make sure to cover the tank well!

Silver arowana, grows very quickly. Will be 2 foot long in about 18 months. Need to have tank yop sealed and secured, small ones will jump through any holes, larger ones will just knock the top off while jumping.

be sure to feed him a variety of food, when i got my first arowana i didn't know any better and i just fed him straight meal worms as a staple (high in protein but poor in calcium and certain vitamins) consequently he had really lain coloration. when he grew to be about 15 inches he got VERY picky with food and really hard to feed. anyway variety= balanced nutrition

thanks, here in India fish food of a good quality is very rare. What cheap and easy foods will you recomend, I think it is already on pellets but he has not even nibbled at the feeders (Not gold fish, little fishes of an unknown species that have been quarantined) in the tank for the gar. I think this is do to the fishes shock and the fact that the feeders are on the bottom. Comments?

edit: Glow light tetras are the feeders
