Isla Taboga Panama via Milwaukee
came today airport to airport
half dozen Chuco micropthalmus

Haven't kept any Parachromis in almost a decade, but after snorkeling with P friedrichsthalii last year in cenote Aktun Ha, couldn't help but getting a little over a dozen Parachromis "la ceiba" fry.

Nice looking chuco! I have one myself and they are quite the intuitive but stubborn fish.

What do you mean when you say, "they are quite the intuitive, but stubborn fish?" Stubborn in what way?

My avatar came from CoA two years ago and is a la ceiba. He`s now going on ten inches (I have not pushed growth at all); he was one of ten and the sole survivor having murdered his tank mates. They are great fish but pretty mean. Give them enough room and hiding spots to avoid what Kruger (avatar) did. They spawn at a smaller size or at least mine would have had I wanted them to. I`d say the girls were 3.5" at that time and the males a little over four which I think smaller for guapote. Both fish are good additions and I look forward to seeing how yours turn out.

Nice pick-ups Duane, can't wait to see updates on these guys.

I got a bunch of Dan's Parachromis 'la cieba' a while back. They color up nicely. The female I kept is quite peaceful with others, although when I had the group growing up together there was a lot of infighting.

Nice to see photos of what I may have to look forward to.
When I snorkeled with friedrichstalli, I never saw any closer than 10 ft from one another, so I expect to separate them soon And even though they are barely 0.5", they are growing out in a 55 gal.
