My RD/Midas female and Male Flowerhorn have successfully bred. Fry are now swimming. I've never raised babies before. She is ULTRA protective of the fry, will not let dad come anywhere near them. I can hardly approach the tank.
I intend to remove the fry sometime over the weekend into either a 10g or 20g with a sponge filter. My question is, should I leave them with mom for a while or is it ok to go ahead and remove them. Also, what do you guys recommend that I feed the fry?
What temp should I maintain the fry? etc.. etc..

Uh, it's alright to leave them with the mom until they hit a half inch, the weakest ones will naturally be weeded out. You should keep the water parameters the same as their birth tank. I would feed them bbs and crushed up NLS Growth formula.

Define "bbs" and crushed "NLS" ??? Thanks.

Congrats Chefrific!!! I agree w/ Fish on fire...leave the mother and take the father out!!! I do have experience on these just check out my breeding threads..goodluck!!!
