Hey guys, so I bought an Oscar. He looks healthy but now he has been home for 2 days and is still sitting on the bottom of the tank and leaning to the side.

The tank water quality is perfect, and the heat is around 73-74. Is he just stressed and getting used to his new surroundings?

He is currently living alone in a 20 Gallon quarantine tank. He will eventually have a pleco buddy but as of now he is alone.

Ran the tank for 6 weeks with 2 goldfish. I fed the goldfish to my turtle in a different tank, did a water change, and then added the Oscar a week later.

Think 65 g min for one adult Oscar.

As for the sitting on the side, Oscars are very moody by nature, you'll find out that it should be fine in a couple of days. You'll also find that the pleco tank mate won't be a mate for long. You already should be thinking about upgrading the tank. I understand the QT is important but 20 really is too small.

Welcome to MFK.
