hi, I am no expert with dat,
I've just bought a baby irian dat, around 1", and currently in a 40g tank with two of my 4" albinos bichirs. Will this be OK?
does a small dat grows faster to reach a certain size?
is the name irian dat similar to indo dat?
cheers

I have never heard of an irian dat. Maybe some pictures will help.

could be that he's referring to ngt. in any case i havent seen many 1" ngts around, only 1" indo.

Dats are fairly slow growers, but are long lived(10+ years). I have a 4" widebar in community tank now with no problems; just as long as they can't swallow their tankmates.

Yeah, I did a search and found out that the "Irian Dats" are NGTs.

@OP - careful they are the most aggressive of datnoids.

well, I took the chance yesterday putting it into 40g along with 2 of my bichirs and it survive the 1st day, I hope I manage to keep the dat for a very long time. I want to try floating pellets on this guy, I hope it'll work.
