I just got this little guy 2 days ago at our local fish store, a guy had just brought it in for trade (said it was really mean lol...go figure).
I was hoping someone might tell me what kind of flowerhorn it could be?

It's a ZZ Red Dragon, welcome to the wacky world of Flowerhorns! And if it's mean now, wait til later lol :) Most would advise keeping solo is best, esp. after it starts putting on some size.

Btw it appears your fish has white stringy poop, which could just be stress from moving and/or indigestion if short term. But if it's frequent and continues it could indicate Hexamita infection (which FH are quite prone to, and can lead to HITH (hole in the head) symptoms. Let me clarify I don't know which it is (or even if it's something else), but any time esp. a FH gets white stringy poo it's something to monitor closely and then treat if required.

For more info about Hexamita, see this sticky post linked below for more info and easy treatment with Epsom Salt. And if you suspect it might be Hexamita after researching more, it's best to treat asap while it's still eating, the earlier you nip Hex in the buds the better (and even if it didn't have Hex the Epsom Salt wouldn't hurt it if you follow the directions in that very informative thread). I'm not trying to scare you, just highlighting what is a very common problem with FH, which you can also see by going back over older threads in the Flowerhorn Sub-forum. Hopefully it will go away soon and not come back after the fish is settled in more, but if not at least you know where to head for next steps.

Thank you so much for the article! I will do the Epsom salt treatment just to be safe, he is a little guy about the size of a betta and epsom seems safe from what I read. It's going to be fun watching him grow.
