I wanted to keep it pretty simple for titus as to not stress him out and also because he wont be in this 75 gallon long lol just knew hed outgrow that shark mouth hide quickly so i gave him another hide with a bit of fake plants. I am not the best at scaping aquariums so any tips would be appreciated for the 125 when i move him over into it. I have some antlers but i know they can leach calcium into the water so i wanted to find a tank safe clear coat and paint the antlers to keep them from coming in contact with the water and keep the water ph from being affected.20201115_193057.jpg

It's good that you are already planning an upgrade to a 125g. Have you anything in the pipeline after young Titus has outgrown his 125? It won't take long!

Just an observation, your water looks cloudy/milky. Looks like a bacterial bloom. How long has the 75g been up and running? Are your parameters ok?

It is a bit cloudy and im not sure why, the tank has been up for a couple years. There was an oscar in the tank before titus and i removed it because it was showing signs of dominance and being sorta territorial so i removed her. It may be a bloom due to the larger fish being removed, im not sure. It has been cloudy since i got titus. Bacteria blooms as far as i know arent harmful just an eyesore. Is there any quick fixes for cloudy tanks?

Oh yes on the upgrade from the 125g, he will be transported into a pool pond in my basement.

It could be a sign that there is an imbalance in your BB numbers from the changeover from the oscar being removed and the RTC being added. I'm guessing that the bio load your RTC is putting out is greater than that of your oscar. Your bacteria are trying to catch up which can cause a sudden bloom. It doesn't help that you have uneaten food/fish waste on the bottom.

To be sure there's nothing more sinister going on i'd do a parameter check.

The oscar was quite a bit bigger than what the RT is currently. Oscars are also very messy eaters with their crushers they have in their mouths. They make a mess and a lot of food falls out around their gills. The oscar i removed was around 4 1/2 - 5 inches long and the red is only around 3 inches. I put a small form of sponger filter on the bottom of the wall with the sponge out just to help move the bottom level of the water column to help circulate the water so it has better oxygenation and keeps the bottom of the tank cleaner. I am currently working on an air stone style sponge filter right now for an added filtration. I currently am out of test strips but i do have some cloudy water treatment for aquariums that came with my 65 gallon tank when i bought it off a friend.
