What do I feed them. They are about 2 inches and still in their nymph stage (I guess that's what you call it). Can I feed them fish food like crumble flakes and granules, or do I need to feed them bloodworms and the such?

Shot in the dark, I'm guessing you have Eastern Newts Notophthalmus viridescens in the eft stage. They need live insects, I've used wingless fruit flies before with good success.

i have no idea but do you have pics? lol

Species? Size? What are they housed in?
no idea on species. one is 2 inches the other is an inch. a 20 gallon, I have to lower the water level to allow them to breathe with ease.

Okay, they're still tadpoles so they will probably accept sinking fish food. Where did you get them? It might help us get a positive ID on them which would help us help you

Blood worms, Mysis shrimp, small sinking pellets might all be successful. I have never had salamander babies reject blood worms as a first food. I like to use bloodworms as a first food since they all seem to recognize it as food. Pellets might take a little bit of training but as soon as they learn that it is tasty and edible, pellets are all you will need. Small insects and worms are also a good diet. In all honesty, I treat my amphibians almost exactly as I would care for my fish. All of my aquatics eat pellets with worms and shrimp as a supplement. At the right size, cherry or ghost shrimp are an entertaining way to keep them active and hunting
