Hey guys! Finally got an Arowana!:) I've wanted one for so long but they're really hard to get without paying £40+ for a baby online, got this one from a local shop for £26!:) They said that it was fed on crickets, so i bought some and im not sure how many I should feed per day? It's a fairly big meal for the little fish so im guessing 1 or two? Here are some pics:)

Thanks guys:)

Give him what he'll eat in a few minutes, I'd agree with 1-2, if he eats them all then offer another. I'd honestly try and get him started on pellets of some kind, massivore or hakari, it's much easier when they're little like that.

Thanks, Ive put a broken up hikari pin there, it ate it and spat is back out, I'm going to wait until it's hungry tomorrow and put one in to see if it will take it, i definately wont carry on with the crickets for long, just this one tub:)

Thanks for the feedback:)

nice little fish mate i got one to today but payed £37 for him mines takeing pellets keep going with them he/she will take them eventually

Oh, really? what size is it? my arowana is around 2.5 inches im guessing.. There is one on ebay all the time which must be from a dealer and its £44 + something like £15 postage, way too expensive for a baby! I've got these crickets now, I would like it to eat both but ive got to feed the crickets or or else they will all just die anyway..

he/shes about 5 inch long and bout 1 inch wide i had one bout 23 inch long a while ago and gave him crickets as a treat now and then meal worm are gd to

Oh, you still got an okay deal then.. this shop i got this one from had one about 7" a while ago for £45. I wish i had chance to buy it so i didnt have to have a grow out tank:P

dont feed crickets to arowanas that small.
the crickets shell can be dangerous to it.
get it on live or fd bloodworms & brine shrimp
until it gets around 5-7" then try pellets.
also you should feed as much as it can eat
within 1-3 minutes twice a day atleast.

Oh, thanks for that info, i tried with a pellet today and it ate it and spat it out, so its definitely interested so it shouldn't be too hard to change the habit! Thanks for the advice again:)
