I bought about a 4" mono or ocel today. I know I paid too much, but oh well. At the LFS, they were all very pale. She said it was a female and was with a male and they were a pair, but couldn't tell me anything other than it was a p-bass :screwy:

I'll get some pix once it settles in and colors up.

they also had a 2-spot mono (I'm assuming), but it was small. If this one turns out to be an ocel, I may end up picking that one up. Are there 2-spot ocels?

there is no way that he can garuntee you there male/female at that size x: lets see some pics =]
ya, i know, I'm like, okay, you can tell what sex it is but not what species...um, okay

basically you will not know what sex they are untill they pair up or when male gets hump. now to find out what species they are you are also going to have to wait till it gets a bit bigger. mono and ocell look identical when really small once they get to like 4" you can start telling them apart

I know I can't sex them yet....nevermind, I'm not explaining it well enough I guess, LOL.

has anyone ever seen a 2-spot ocel?

the one I got is over 4", so once it colors up, we may be able to tell

congrats on the new bass paul, cant wait for the pics..
