I added some plants to the tank to see if it would get my poly's to spread out a bit.(they love to pile at the the back). So Far it has worked well, I think the added cover makes them feel much more secure. It also hides that fact the tank is mildly overstocked.

A few misc, shots to round out the pics.

The Congicus I picked up last Nov is now pushing 15". The baby Ornate I put in 2 weeks ago is still not in anyone's stomach...All is good in the tank.

The del on the bottom is the old timer at over 10 years of age.

Thanks, I would normally grow out new additions a little more, but jumped the gun in this case. My tank has never seen live food so I think that helps reduce the bigger fish from looking at the new ornate as food.

Here is the ornate just a couple of weeks ago.

I have been trying to get a pic of the little Ornate next to the big 20"ornate, but so far they are just not co-operating.

How big is the senegal at the front left in the full tank shot?
How big is the tank anyway?
Very nice tank burbotman, you have too keep us updated on the little ornate.

i dont think you will have to worry about the little one at all (hope i'm not wrong!) as i feel aggression is only shown amongst competitors - meaning the larger fish see other large fish as competition for food/territory/mating. as you dont feed live foods the smallest wont be seen as food!

Great collection of birchirs and i always love to see a bit of green in the tank. good decision.

Thanks Jakob, the tank is a custom made 160-165 gallon (58.5"long, 26.5" wide, 24" H----had made as large as I could fit into where I needed to put it)
Tank has 9 poly's, a JD, Snakehead, Bullhead and Bristle nose in it.

The Sen is just over 10.5" and 5 years old.

I wish I could say the plants were real, but my bullhead has a passion for seeing how many pieces he can shred them in.

Agree with your thoughts on aggression and predation.
