here are a few picks of my new bichir, i was wondering if someone could tell me what species and what type of pellets and food i might feed him

They will eat just about anything
frozen bloodworms when small along with sinking carnivore pellets also the NLS pellet food line,market shrimp, feeder(Quarantined). I'm sure that there is alot more that just what I use with success.

my all time favorite pellet to feed is Hikari Massivore! my bichirs love it! - their diet is 80% this.
thank you guys, i saw a bichir and thought they were pretty sweet so i got one, roughly how large will this guy get?
I have two that look just like yours, im not sure of how big they will get but mine have been growing at a nice rate. Also nice pumpkin seed! i got one too 
the only concern here is the tank mate in the first pic, is that a GT?, I never put my bichirs with any cichlids as they may pick on your sen, and your sen may not get enough food, cause as you drop food in the tank that cichlid would be the first to get it. Just keep an eye on it.
