New Bio-Wheel

Just got another Bio-Wheel 350 for my 90 gallon tank. My problem is that one wheel won't turn. It is missing the little purple bearing that slides into the side of the filter for the thing that rotates the bio wheel to sit on. I've looked on Marineland's site, and all my lfs and can't find it. Does anyone know where I could happen to find one???:nilly::irked::irked::irked:
 
My LFS gets used filters in all the time. I always buy used. He also has a selection of parts...I'm sure he is not the only one doing this...check with your LFS.
 
Look in the parts sections of all these retail websites (drsfostersmith.com, bigalsonline.com, marine depot, etc, etc). I can't remember who carries these, but I have seen them on the net somwhere.
 
You can use small straws or coffee stir sticks, cut one piece short to slide over the rod, then add more layers by cutting lenthwise. This should get ya going until you can get the part you need.
 
also you could take it to petsmart if you wanted to and they will give you a whole new filter even if you didnt get it there. dont even need a recipt. i worked there for a year that why i know that. they are great about returns

wow, lol that did the trick It acts just like the purple piece. thanks. I need to do the same thing for another penguin 350 I have laying around its missing that piece too. It came with a free 55 I just got.
