New bird!!!!

I am so happy Monday I finally got my little baby. She is a miligold macaw and is 7 months old her name is lucy. Right now for some reason my pc wont let me put any pics. on so i will try again tonight. I just have a few questions .I have read that you should start teaching them asap to know not to have a screaming fit for no reason is this true or false? She does it a little bit but not to much just when I am not in the room and she knows I am home. So how would you suggest for me to go about this? I have heard a squirt bottle and covering them up until they have been quiet for 5 minutes are either one of these good? Any advice at all over macaws in general would be awesome the more I know the happier the both we will be.

I'm no expert but what you suggested in regards to her behaviour sounds good.
Also try ignoring it completely, go about your normal buisness and when she has been quite for a while go in and pay some attention to her.
I don't know if you have tried this or not but worth a shot

Congratulations with your new bird!
The trick is to reward behaviour that u want and ignore behaviour that u dont want worked with my umbrella cockatoo and african grey.

Well pc is still not working so I am gonna be at a friends tomorrow so it should be up tomorrow morning after i get out of class. And ya a miligold is a hybrid blue and gold x military. And I am trying the ignoring and rewarding technique now so hopefully all goes well!
