New Black Arowana Keeper Any Tips?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Title says it all. Thanks for any input!!

Congrats like a Silver if small personally would keep in the aquarium with docile inhabitants only or preferably alone with floating plants and offer floating foods freeze dried bloodworms, small shrimp,or small floating pellets. When small they are fragile and easily bullied and won't survive under those conditions.

Make sure that lid is completely covered, so zero chance of a leaping-out-of-tank escape attempt

I honestly think arowana are one of the easier fish to keep.
Feed well, have a solid lid, slow water movement, and plenty of space and your be golden!

Do not add activated carbon or charcoal in your filter media. It may cause damage to your fish's finnages, and make it looks like the "burning" edges of a piece of paper. It may also cause your fish to develop hole in the head and lateral line diseases. Good luck and have fun with your new black arowana.
