Hello everyone I recently bought a new Black Belt Cichlid and have looked everywhere I could think of to find out just how fast this fish grows any help would be great and any suggestions and to what would work with him in a 125 set up that recently was reset up after move Thanks in advance for any help and suggestions

Mines is growing relatively slow as for what can go in a 125 with it I'd try medium tough cichlids like JDs,green terror but black belts have a reputation for being killers so anything is at risk of getting murdered at some point

super red jewels are tough and pretty little dithers. convicts, salvini, pleco, a catfish like ornate pim or suncat... most none cichlids will most likely be ignored. good luck

I was thinkin about some Jewels with small caves they would be able to hide in once he got bigger cause I know BB have a bad reputation and he already act like he don't like you come near his tank lol

I had one that was almost 12 inch after year. Had to remove him because he was being chased by a Midas.
But he was pretty tough and almost keeping up with the Midas.
Yes some jewels or convicts would be good company. Nothing too big because that will be seen as direct competition.

Mine is growing soooo slow. It hooked up with my Honduran Red Point so I took them out of the 60 community tank. They have spawned twice and it is still only as big as a regular Convict.
