Anyone have advice on what to feed it to color out, especially the reds. I usually feed nls and hikari gold.

Despite manufacturers claim, I don't think food has much to do with coloring up a fish. Genetic, age, water quality and overall health have more to do with the color of a fish.

LOOKS A LITTLE LIKE MINE DID EARLY ON... give him veggies (mine likes spinach leaves) and good flakes or pellets(I give mine high protein flake mixed 50-50 with spiralina flake.. omega 1 is good for cichlids) and dont forget MASSIVE WATER CHANGES....I DO 2 40% changes a week .. sometimes 3... BLACKBELTS ROCK... they are like oscars only a LOT prettier:popcorn: just curious what size tank? mines in a 75 w/ a very wary con! another silly question, since your in phx also where did you find him ... mines from tropical treasures...

He is in a 55g quarantine tank with a female flowerhorn. As soon as I released him into the tank his vent dropped lol, he seems very relaxed and knows what he is doing. I got him at amazon fish store , I forgot what city but I took the i17 north for a bit.
