We have 2 heart shaped Red Blood Parrot's ..they are probably about 3" or so. We had them in a 5G minibow for 5 days until we could get a bigger tank. Not realizing when purchased how big they would get....We now have a 29g with the 2 Parrots and 1 small pleco. We are wanting to get a Bala Shark, 1-2 Angels and 6 Zebra Danios....Will these be compatible? Is that too many for our tank size? I like the zebras, but there sole purpose is to be a calming school for the BP's and I'm not sure if they are too small to survive? Other recomendations? Do the Angels need to be kept in schools or is 1 or 2 OK? Any other cool brighter colored freshwater fish that would be compatible? How many fish should be our max for tank size??

Ok im not crazy like other people so I don't think you need an 180 gallon :D I'm sure you can't keep zebra danios with angels and blood parrots because the angels and parrots will eventually get to big and eat them. I think the bala shark would be fine. I'm not sure with the parrots I think they are semi agressive and angels get aggressive when they are going to breed. If you want to keep those fish together might want a 55 gallon tank.

you will eventually need a larger tank if you plan on keeping a number of fish, however a 55g would suffice for 2 parrots and a few other fish counting you have a good filter and keep up with weekly water changes.

that being said, parrots and angels are a bad idea. the parrots will more than likely stress the angel fish out way too much. the parrots however would be fine with danios since danios are extremely fast swimmers. some other colorful fish you could add with parrot fish are rams, convicts or even kirin/kilin parrots which is a cross between parrot fish and a flowerhorn. tey generally stay small like parrots but have the color/marks of a flowerhorn
