Very nice. Ive always wanted to get my hands on one of these.

Neat stuff! I have seen a total of 3 in person they remind me of old men with that rinkle look of the scales and scruffy face with whatever those wisker things are called!

Very nice. Years ago... late 80's to early 90's theses were common in pet stores around Indy... and sold for around the same price as Royal Pleco's . Does anyone know if something happened in their natural enviroment or that has made them rare and expensive?

I had one of these years ago they are beautiful fish-1992 was the year I had mine. I understand the reason they are expensive and rare is because the area they are caught is very dangerous due to drug wars and unrest. The chances of getting kidnapped or killed I understood were high for fish collectors and that very few people go there as a result.
I forgot to add beautiful looking fish OP. They always look amazing out of the water as well and are like Armoured vehicles lol. You are very lucky person
