Hi there MFK
I was just wondering what kind of medicine would you guys use on a newborn black diamond pup.
My BD had 3 pups 2 days ago. And one of my adults rays got a hold of 1 of the pups.
Unfortunately he got one of his eyes damaged and the top of his head and there's damage to his tail as well.
Last night I noticed his starting to get a little bit of fungus I guess you can call it on his tail and on his bad Eye.
So I was just wondering if anyone would recommend any kind of medicine to use for him or should I just use salt?
Thanks in advance.

It doesnt look good. It's most likely going to lose its tail if it survives. Is it currently feeding?

The tail will be gone. Keep good clean water and get them eating and they should otherwise heal up.
Thanks for the reply guys. There only 3 days old. So there not eating yet. Just the bigest male is starting to play with food starting today. The little male that's injured still has his yolk sac.

Yolk and that injury, the chance of it making is almost none. Most premature pups with the yolk dont make it most of the time.

Clean water and some may disagree...but chop the tail. The large dead area is just going to introduce infection into the bloodstream IMO.

Tough call...more trauma could kill him... letting it go could kill him....
That's a hard call about cutting the tail off. But I think your right.
