hello, everybody, finally on November 19th, my female Motoro had a litter of two pups, one female and male, both 10 cm in diameter. Today is the third day, but both of them are not eating. I try to offer them live tubifex and live bloodworms, but they don't even react to it. Externally they look perfectly fine, but I'm still worried. I've read in stickies, that pups don't eat for 2-3 days, but tomorrow it'll be the fourth.
My tank temperature is 26C (80-81F), maybe that has anything to do?
Any thoughts will be appreciated.

I don't generally offer my pups for at least 5 days. Healthy pups born at a good weight sometimes don't take food for a week or more, if the mother is well fed during gestation then so are the pups, they generally have enough yolk in their stomach's to work on first.
Don't worry its normal! Take any uneaten food out of the tank and try later, uneaten food pollutes the tank and ultimately kills the pups.....be patient!

Congratulations!

MFK at it's best! I love when someone gets the help they need without getting belittled or snapped at.

Pups look good. Hope they are eating for you soon.

I will also add I have gotten all my pups to eat small pieces of night crawler first then onto shrimp. The longest I had to wait was 4 days. Never wanted to get them on live stuff like blackworms as I do not want to keep them on hand. I would rather the pups eat what the bigger rays eat.

The only pups I have had ( and we just had litter number 7 ) are retics and sadly their little mouths just aren't quit big enough for night crawlers even tiny pieces. We can usually get them transitioned over to them by 4-6 weeks old though so it's not too bad.

Mine started eating about the 5th day. I tried a variety of chopped food but all were ignored except the small bits of salmon. Just be patient and take out uneaten food. They are more than a month now and still picky on other foods.
