Picked up 2 bowfin the other day from a local food market. Male around 20" and a female around 24". Currently in with some gator gars and an id shark that is ignored by all the other fish.

Thanks everyone. Really liking these fish so far. Can't believe it took me this long to finally get some. Probably going to get a couple more shortly.

Local grocery store sells them for 3.99 per pound when available. The male cost a little over $12 and the female cost me a little over $20.
Picked up 2 more females both around 20". So far everyone is still getting along with only some minor fin nipping. Hoping it stays that way, but there are a lot of unpredictable preds in a relatively small volume of water. I also have another gator gar that will be added into the pond when it grows a couple more inches.
