Phnx az
I did a stupid rookie thing and let my girl buy a BP. It's a good lookin one so I didn't object to much. I never realy gave these critters much thought but like I said it is a good looking fish.
On to my questions.
How agressive are they? I have read they are RD hybrids so I figure they can hold their own. I plan to house it in a 240gln with an oscar that has a stable demenor. The oscar has never beat anything up besides a few gold fish and platties that were intended as food anyway. The BP is in the tank now and the oscar won't be moved into the tank for a couple more weeks I am making sure all of the inhabitants get stable before I put him in.
Feeding this bp is kinda labor intensive it eats 1 or 2 pellets at a time and can only fit the medium hikari in his mouth right now. The oscar won't even waste it's time with medium pellets and eats 10 or 12 large before he starts his cookie monster impersonation but it does tend to protect the food. Th BP loves night crawlers and pics at the substrate constantly. Is this typical? I am asuming it is.
Any sugestions on how to get food into this thing faster?
