So I’m cycling my new tank and the tank stock is going to be
2x orange saddle back fugus
6x mono argentus
2x green spotted puffers
1x ruby scat
The tank size is 125 gallons
The salinity is 1.020
Will this stock list work?
And my lfs has 3 inch fugus and said I needed to have them in freshwater for a year and I can’t just drip acclimate them over a course of several hours is this correct?

Just so you know that specific gravity 1.020 is full salt water.
Full salt 1.018 and up, oceans tend to be 1.025
Brackish any where between 1.005 to 1.018 typically 1.008 to 1.015
Fresh below 1.001
Obviously there are various levels that fish, plants, inverts can handle. Most people keep their reefs around 1.025, fowlr 1.020 to 1.023, hospital tanks can be taken down to 1.016 range to help kill parasites usually without harm to the salt water fish. The fish you have listed can endure high level brackish to full salt. If the fish you get are all being kept in fresh water you can slowly acclimate them up to your desired level say over 6 months to a year by increasing the sg by .002 to .004 monthly. I don't know when is the best time to start the process in their life span tbh. If some of the fish are being kept brackish you'll have to wait until you reach their level before adding them. Most monos look and do better in full salt water. My other concern is filtration and biological bacteria. Saltwater can be filtered like fresh water but there are more efficient ways to do it. I believe the gradual increase in sg will allow the current or future generations of bacteria to survive. Bright wells mb7 bacteria in a bottle is safe for use in either salt or fresh water and does work, I'm not sure how. If you take a piece of live rock and throw it in a bucket of fresh water all of the live "stuff" will die. If you take fresh water biofiltration and throw it in a bucket of saltwater will it die? Maybe not I don't know. Maybe fresh water bacteria is more versatile?

The biggest issue is the fugu puffers (takifugu ocellatus). Not only will they kill everything, but they need cold water. We're talking around 18°C (around 65-70°F), but they're a saltwater puffer. All these puffers can be slowly drip or cup acclimated over to salt from the get go. 1.020 is what I keep my marine tank at with Angel's, triggers, etc.

I'm not that knowledgeable on the rest of your stock.

Thank you so much and did I pick a stock list that should work
Np.
You did pick stock that should work. My only concern is the acquisition and acclimation of all the stock. With proper qt you should be able to get them all and acclimate them to your system even if they don't happen all at once or from the same sg.
