New breeding project

Well I decided to get back into breeding bettas and this time I want to do it right and go with the higher quality stuff so I bought some black gold dragon HMPK (halfmoon plakats) from a Thailand breeder. Here are the pics. The first are of the female:

She is a pretty little thing. I might try to purchase copper or melano half moon females for the breeding project to try to solidify the black in the fins.

Here is the guy, he was hiding in the java fern:

Then I pulled out the good ole mirror.

This is where he was actually flaring but I couldn't get a good shot because he moved too fast.

Nice choices!!! Good luck breeding them.
I might try this with some wild strains that I found at, of all places, Wal-Mart. I doubt they'll be in as high demand as the brightly colored ones. The male is labeled as a female, so he's a bit cheaper. Now to get a spare tank....
