Hey I have just got a new bullhead and wondering what will they eat? will they eat rosys? also is it normal for him to just lay around on the bottom i jsut got him today prob figure he is stressed out or something...

how big is he? mine is an inch long and eats small earthworms and flake. Mine also swims aropund looking for food, all day! even if his belly is full, he is still lookin...
They will eat insects, pellets, fish and crustaceans(freshwater clams, crayfish) It is normal for the catfish to lay around, they are night time predators. Yours can be trained to eat and be active during the day by feeding during the day.
Your catfish is still healing. My brown bullhead eventually became active when I was not around. The minute I would come into the room, it would immediately head for it's spot and stay there.
It took about 2 weeks before it would eat in front of me. Now, the bullhead cruises all the time.
It took about 27 days before it would eat. I got mine on 5-28-10. This catfish is truly my favorite in the tank.
Trust me, you will enjoy your catfish, the speed, agility and prowling behavior is worth it!!

mine was always friendly with me, but now i can hand feed him and everything. just give him some time, he should get friendlier...
I got mine out of my local creek. I wouldnt have taken him, but he was pretty beat up. He was in a slow moving, sandy area.
yea i put small roseys and flakes in there but he sits under the log, and when i leave thr room he com es out and when i turn the light on he runs... i feed only during the day... so guess ill have to wait for him to come around
They will eat any kind of meaty food. Mine usualy take bloodworms when I first get them. And they tend to take pellets fairly easily.
