I caught a bullhead today for the native tank I am starting. The tank is a 100 72x18x18. I'm pretty sure he is a brown bullhead based upon what I have read. His name is Brutus and he is about 8 or 9 inches long. He is pretty active. After acclimating him I was just going to pick him up and put him in the the tank but he bit me when I put my hand in the bucket lol. There is 9 feeder goldfish in there already. I plan on feeding him tilapia, tuna, prawns, and pellets. He will soon be accompanied by two bluegill and a black crappie.

Wild fish most usually carry a lot of parasites. I'd treat any of them in quarantine... unless you aim your tank to be natural in terms of the parasitic cultures present too. But then, the fish immune system may not be as strong in the artificial environment of a tank versus the wild and the parasites that didn't bother them much before, may start now.

Well bullheads are super hardy that even parasites cannot kill these bullheads. Sounds like he is only one fish in the tank at this moment beside the feeders, so no need to be worrying about it.

I miss my bullhead so much I noodled him and I would hand feed him in my tank he wad the coolest! Let's see some pics of yours!

I will put up pics in the morning. Mine just lays in the corner on a pile of rocks. He never moves. I have gotten him to eat hot dog but he lets it sit for hours. Then he will either eat it that night or when everyone is out of the house for a couple hours.

Yeah I have always really liked all types of catfish. I have fun catching these bullheads and I really want a channel cat so I decided to keep one and just pretend he's a baby channel lol.
