So Cal
Well, picked up a single 4.5" Butti for a 75g I had, built two HUGE caves for him and he loves it, also got two little potted plants in there which he nearly immediately started to shred up when i released him.

So i been noticing now the plants are moving... >.>

Been watching the tank and i see he hangs out in both caves... and when he's going to be in one over the other, he drags the potted plant to where he plans on hanging out....

ITs pretty funny watching him struggle to bring his favorite plant to the other side of the tank for no reason, and just chill there and nibble on it.

This is my 3rd butti from all the years of my FW, this one by far has the most personality, possibly because he is going to be a solo specimen in his tank. Thinking of adding a Pleco tho, just so he has something else in there to interact with. The back of the tank is painted black, the sides allow him to see his reflection and once in awhile he goes nuts on it, im thinking of covering the sides.

Wish I could get a pic up, no camera tho >.<

One side of him the yellow bars connect, and he has a "U" its kinda cool.

Also, think this guy might be a glassbanger, thats fairly uncommon for butti isn't it ?

Nice pickup, I have had a few Buttikoferi who would just dig all day and wait for me to walk by there tanks so they could charge my big ass head. I had a breeding pair of butti that would launch them selves outta the water if I peaked at them from the top.

Butti are cool as _____! Congratz on the PU. You should borrow a camera from someone so we can see the young beasty.

not really uncommon mine seems kinda gentle though I love her. I think it's a her just because her colors are pretty bright still. I heard the males tend to fade more than the females as the pick up size.

i had a butti once,he liked to beat on my jack dempsey,so he got traded in,only because he was terrorizing all of my dads fish cause he was in my dads tank.he was my favorite fish

Mine likes to bite a nearby rock like he's sharpening his teeth and then charge the glass. No fingers in the tank!!!

I have never kept Butti's before but from what I hear they are an awesome fish to keep. I have only yet to come into the Madagascan cichlid scene with my Bleekeri. I hvae kept other African cichlids before but never Madagascan.
