ey guys i have caught 3 new blue gills sun fish medium sized, hooked them all right in the lip no bleeding nothing, wondering aprox when i should try feeding them, im guessing there to stressed to eat now any idea? Also... i dunno how to tell sex but if there all males will they kill one another or how does that work...? I also have 2 small dwarf puffer fish, is it safe to add them with the sun fish or no.

You bluegill will eat your puffers if they can catch them. If they can't catch them the puffers will pick at the bluegill.

Also, it's not safe to add tropicals with newly caught native fish (how long have you had either species?) because they can transfer parasites or pathogens to each other.

It doesn't matter if you have all male blue gill or all female or a mix. Blue gill don't pair up with mates, so if they become territorial they will fight. The likelyhood of this happening depends on the aggression of the individual blue gill and the tank size.

No, you don't need to feed them yet, let them settle down first.
