IN YOUR HEAD
just go a spotted raphael cat today...paid $13 for it, is that average for a 3.5" fish...i have seen them for $20 at the same size...can't get pics yet as it disappeared in the rocks and caves i have...

i have knive fish rope fish and sen bichirs in the same tank i see the sens every day the others i see once in a while unless i look for them...i try to make the caves big and dark for the fish but so i can see inside them from a side...just this guy is smaller so it can hide in a rock pile i have now...

Nice pickup!

Get use to never seeing him.

 That just about sums it up. They are such cool looking catfish, but I've only seen mine three times in the year and a half we've had him. I dismantled the tank to move, and he was wedge into the wood refusing to budge. After a couple minutes we gave up knowing we'd injure him if not kill him if we continued to try. He just ended up the only fish to ride with the wood in the move. Second time and third time, I was doing massive cleanings. Both times he was still wedged in the wood. I've got a tank of catfish and plecos. I'm used to not seeing everyone, but this guy is by far the most secretive. If you can find the secret to getting to see these guys, please tell us! :)

i will...now it has found my slate leaned up against the glass and is at the back of it, but is visable...i hope it keeps this home as it will be in plain sight all the time...

All I have to do is open the stand cabinet door and stick my head under the tank to see my Raph. Sure, it's a belly view, but I'm not picky.

idk, but i can't stand bare tanks...there has to be sand/rocks in there...i like the natural look...

My Raphael hates gravel and removes all of it from his hiding spot whenever I mess things up on him during vacuuming or arranging. I thought this was normal. Maybe it is not.

We'd all be jealous...

damn spotted rapheals are exspensive in minnesota, got mine for just under 6 bucks after sales tax here in northern california.

To see my spotted, i walk into the room the tank is in in pitch black dark, got the room's layout memorized so i don't trip, and then with a dimmed flashlight watch him cruise around the tank.

if i turn any light on him longenough he hurries back to his hide which is inside a pice of drifgtwood that has almost neutral boyance, floats under water.
