A lot more active than I'd expected. About 10 " long, came with scars from an upbringing in a cichlid tank, and has already kicked the living **** out of of my BGK of equivalent length, in a dispute over who gets to sleep in the ceramic pumpkin.

The photo is not showing for me...it just says IMG inside of a box.

Yes, the OP pic is not there anymore for me either.

The parents can be a number of synos. It's a rather useless guesswork as your syno is ~ fully grown, I'd think. Ornatipinnis might be the closest but others may be too - britchardi, shoutedeni, decorus, etc. - look through this giant genus and see which look the closest - http://www.planetcatfish.com/common/genus.php?genus_id=29#4397

How they are made is a "dirty" trade secret. No one knows for sure but those who made it, likely somewhere in Eastern Europe. No one knows if its one or both parents are even genuine synos and not other hybrids.

I'd expect it to stay under 1' and to be semi-aggressive, adaptive. As to solitary, riverine, medium water versus shoaling, lake, hard alkaline water synos - I think no one knows. It may or may not have both kinds in its lineage.

Thanks for that guys. Exactly what kind it is, I (sort of)don't care too much, but I really appreciate thebiggerthebetter thebiggerthebetter 's opinion on her being fully grown and topping out at under 1'. Yes, she (I'm referring to the fish as a she because it's easier) is semi-aggressive and pretty solitary. I have no plans to breed. Weirdly, she seems to have made friends(?) with my juvenile leopard bushfish over everyone else in the tank. They hang together as buds without stress - possibly because of the similar skin pattern. IDK.

I can't view either picture now.

Only 2-3 syno species are large, ~2', and they are very rare and very expensive, so they are not used in hybridizing or so it appears.

Producing large-growing synos would probably be counter to their goals too. Their goal AFAIU is to produce hybrids that look the closest to rare, expensive, genuine synos at a small fraction of the cost.
