wanted to give my red devil a cave to hang out in but i didnt want to put a clay pot in the tank so i went with pvc. he is about 9 inches long and pretty tall so i had to go with a big 22degree elbow. i wanted the 90degree elbow but that thing was massive.
here is a picture of the elbow, my foot is there for size reference.
i bought some silicone and had quite a bit of gravel left over so i smeared the pvc with silicone and covered it in gravel. i also painted the inside of the pvc. i wanted to paint it black but all i could find was gloss black, so i went with a flat dark green instead. i just didnt want the big, obvious, out of place white pvc in the tank. i wanted it to blend in.
here is the finished product.
im still debating on if i should stick a plant to pvc or not. ill drop it in the tank in about 2 weeks.
