where my cichla are
when i bought these guys the MFKer i bought them from asked that i take pics and post them ASAP.

i bought them knowing that they have been sick and that some of them are blind and need special care.. so please leave the sick looking fish comments at the door.

3 of them eat normally, there are two, one of the orinos and one of the monos that just don't quite seem to get it (mostly because they can't see the food), i have to put the food in their mouth, and they shy away from movement. so it's a challenge, but they do eat.. a little.

ok, here are pics.. as promised. we've been doing 40 gallon water changes every other day so the outside of the tank is kinda spotty.. the water is clear though.. lol.

i think the two blind ones are always going to be a challenge, i don't think they will get better. but the other 3 are going to be healthy and happy again, and probably in a different tank soon, because they are picking on the blind guys.

The mono on the right is a stunna!

I don't why people would post negative comments about them because they look great! Hopefully, the blind guys make it and recover(if possible) since it will just suck losing such nice pbass. Good luck.

:iagree:

those are some good looking fish ... to bad they arent in perfect shape, but i guess thats part of the hobby sometimes (im currently rehabbing a mono that someone sold me after his aro tore it to hell)

I do the same. I have rescued several and they are now doing great. I even have a Kelberi I got from Rapps that has a bent tail, but I still like him and he is doing fine. Good luck bro and keep us posted.

Nice pick ups Cath! I know youll look after them well :)

The orino bottom left looks very nice

thanks everybody.. i really like them, and they apparently need me.. like all my other animals.. lol.

the smaller of the two orinos is the one that is totally blind, he's got much nicer colors and is a beautiful blue that just doesn't show up in the pics. He is the toughest to feed, but i do get him to eat a little. the bigger orino isn't as blue, but he's awesome and bright, and possibly one of the toughest fish i own.. lol.

i'll try to get individual pics later so ya all can see the difference, i'm going to clean the glass first though.. lol.
