I just picked up three little clown loaches. what is a good diet for them and what is their growth rate. they are still pretty small, i would say around a inch.

A varied diet is best with lots of hiding spots to make them happy! They also love to school, so the more the better.

just feed them pellets and bloodworms. if you are hardcore, you can always buy some nightcrawlers, cut them up in little pieces and those it in for them.
CL do grow very small but since they are small, not uncommon for fast growth rate with good water conditions and well balanced diet.
just try to give them hiding spaces and also have 5 or more so they feel safer.
