New convict pair.

Just bought this pair from a pet smart. They had fry in the tank with other con and Midas cichlids. The male is 3" max.

I asked if the worker could slip a few fry in the bag but she said she's not allowed unless its accidental.

That fry just become feeders for the midas. I don't understand why she wouldn't it means nothing to her so just scoop some in.

Haha I know. I think she tried to not get any. Oh well. Not sure what I'll do with them.
I originally just bought the male as it was for a breeding project with my blood parrot. But the convict was swimming around not even bothering it and she would pin herself up against any plant or pot she could find. She was terrified of him.
So I went back and bought the female and separated the bp from them.

Hopefully I can get some fry in the next couple of weeks.

Would it be possible to put a small gt about the same size as them in the tank with them? They are in a 50 gal? Or would this lead to problems in the future

Unless the GT is at least 3 times the size of your convicts, you'll have problem. I can suggest adding a Salvini as it can hold its own but I see alot of fighting between the two.
