A creamsicle Midas with blue eyes has long been at the top of my wish list, and I got the chance this weekend to snag one. I am so so excited. I already have a red and white juvie, and will probably end up keeping only one of the two as they grow depending on who develops the best color and personality, but I have divided my 55g until I can decide.
Here are some pics. He/She is about 2.5"

My other juvie is pretty upset about the new living arrangements.

P.S. If anyone in the AL or GA area really wants a red and white Midas, I might be willing to part with mine soon.

Very nice.

Cool fish, I love mine.

What's the difference between a R&W and "creamsicle"?
I've got 4 Red/Orange & Whites. I don't like the term "creamsicle" so I just callem R&W's or O&W's. Creamsicle makes them sound like fat huge ice cream bars lol.

Haha that's too funny. I am no expert at all, I was just asking SinisterKisses what "creamsicles" look like as they mature because I've only seen juvies.
I pull my descriptions from Jeff Rapps' website. He refers to the mostly white fish with red areas as "white and red" Midas, and I believe the creamsicle term was picked up to describe those who aren't mostly orange or mostly white, but rather equal areas of both. I think technically this isn't a desired color in pure Midases, but Lord knows I don't have one of those, haha. Jeff Rapps also said he's never seen a pure Midas with blue eyes and that he's raised "thousands", so I'm sure I have a hybrid Midas/RD.

Anyways... thanks for the comments, guys. I really love this little one, and I'm sure she'll be my keeper. If I had one word to describe her from the first moment I saw her, it's "grateful". She wanted out of that LFS tank where she was being bullied so badly, and has settled in beautifully here, tucking away any food I offer her (as opposed to my other juvie who will only eat live/frozen foods. :shakehead She's also very engaging whenever I pass the tank. Love her!

ewurm, I really like your Midas! The eyes are pretty cool looking too. Do you feed yours any particular foods to keep the orange so vibrant?

I meant to mention but forgot...

This little one almost looked sick at the LFS. She was being picked on a lot, but also seemed to lose her balance and tilt sideways or head-down when she was left alone. It was the weirdest thing, I watched it go on for about 5 minutes, but she was able to escape the other cichlids and swim well when she wanted to. I bought her anyway b/c I figured even if she was sick, I'd be at least getting her away from the stress of the other fish. Since she's been here however, she's been perfectly fine. Stress or bad water conditions maybe?
