hi, just wondering about possible tankmates for my new 6" male spangled pike cichlid. he's in a 130g tank with lots of driftwood, fake plants, rock caves.. he's kind of on the aggressive/dominant side.. but i want a few more fish in there, since there is not a lot of action in the tank right now. i want something nice lookin and colorful, that may help to bring the pike out more too.. any suggestions would be great! thx.

i also have the option of getting a female spangled pike too.. but im not sure how to pick the right one.. my male was the boss of the tank where i bought him, he was with 2 other spangled pikes and 4 tiger oscars.. so should i choose the more dominant female out of the 4 that are available,or a less dominant one..? what are the odds of getting a breeding pair..? again any help would be great! thx.

Best way to get a pair is to buy them all and let them pair on their own. Hard to force a pair on pikes. They are okay with most tankmates that aren't too rambunctious, but can deal with a decent amount of aggression. Nothing too small as they will eat it.
