if all goes well, i'll be getting an 18"er on friday. i know my 4x2x2's a little small for it, but at the price i was offered i'd be an idiot not to pick it up.

i'd just like to know from those who've kept these before(solomon, richard?) if there's any difference in the care for them compared to other gars.

First off cool find... Glad you finally found one of these.

There are a few things to be aware of regarding these fish. They are sensitive to water quality and fluctuations in it. It is advised to keep the water as stable as you can in regards to pH, ammonia and nitrates. The addition of a small amount of sea salt mix (2 TBS per 5 gallon) seems to be beneficial (My personal observation)
