This is my new custome tank I had built for our game room. 83Lx33Hx28W it's about 6ft 7 inches on the stand with hood. (I'm 6.5) have 2 fluval Fx6s for filtration, 250 lbs of white Caribbean sea moon sand, still buying everything else. Plan is todo a huge variety of african cichlids.

Definitely a fantasy tank. I suggest several rock hunting trips to your local commercial rock yard or landscape company. I bought over 200 lbs. of Honeycombed Limestone for 12 cents to 25 cents a lb. from a local rockyard. Shopping at one of those places will save you an unbelievable amount of money. You have a lot of area to fill.
Considering the size of the tank, with a well constructed hardscape & ample swimming space above the reef, keeping an awsome mixture of Predator Haps, Mbuna & some of the more aggressive Peacocks would be fairly easy. A lot of potential to have a great African mixed community.

I was thinking of getting lava rock and stacking it about 20-24 inches tall and about 4 ft long, just a huge stacked center piece of hiding spots. Obviously I'll glue it all together so it doesnt fall but what do u think?
