indiana
Just picked this little beast up. He's slightly stressed from the trip but is active and alert (not to mention tiny).

It looks like an indo tiger to me, but could the pros give me a confirmation?
Also, I have some baby mollies for it to eat, but what is the best prepared food to try to get him on?

i would have to say Indo because of the tail markings. 2 stripes on the tail most likely mean its Indo.

there's been a flux in small indo dats in the hobby the past month or so...... word on the grapevine is that its going to be awhile before we see any ST.......

both my widebars have 2 bars on their tails Im gona say widebar

Right on. I thought it looked like a Micro. I'm happy either way. I dont discriminate when it comes to dats:)

The species is...

Awesome Dat, how much was it?

And id feed him bloodworms...

I got it for 15 bucks. Thanks for the comments:)

I'll get more pix when he settles in..........I just went into the room and his colors are much much better.

Indonesian datnoid, Datnioides microlepis, from Sumatra. The presence of three tail stripes and a middle bar that crosses the ventral surface are characteristics of D. microlepis. D. pulcher, widebars, typically have only two tail stripes and a middle bar that sweeps backwards and comes to a point at or before the ventral surface. Also, among D. microlepis, those from Sumatra tend to have three body bars like D. pulcher, whereas those from Borneo typically have four thin body bars. Regardless, a nice acquisition!
