YOUR MAMA'S HOUSE
Hey i just got two new juvenile dats, about two inches. Im having trouble getting them to eat. any sugestions? Also i know there shy natured but all they yhave done is lay on the bottom scared and arent showing much color.... any sugestions???

They'll probably sulk around for the first few days to a week. You may want to get rid of one or get a few more, having just two could result in them being very shy and may end in one bullying the other severely. For feeding I suggest frozen food, krill and tilapia are favorites of mine.

My tank is bare except for a single piece of lace rock which forms almost a little bridge. For the the first week I had them they always hid under it, but now I rarely see them there. I would definitely recommend a couple hiding spots, at least until they are more confident about their new surroundings at which point you could remove it.

blackshark is right about having at least 3. Hiding places will keep them from getting stressed. You might have to start off on live food, and wean them off of it. Having dither fish will also help them feel more at ease.

whats the temp? Is there an airstone in the tank? HOw big is the tank? What is the filtration? What are the tankmates?

Try live blk/tubifex for food just to get something in their belly.
