Well, I came home from work today and dry water spots down the middle front of my 125G tank caught my eye. Turns out, there is some type of small leak toward the top center of the tank. Water was slowly dripping down the front glass panel, coming out from above the plastic trim. and trickling down the front of the glass.

Here is where I need some advice....

I called the LFS where I purchased the tank from about 6 months ago. They said they could get it fixed because it's under warranty, but I would have to drain the tank, empty it completely and drop it off at their store on Monday when the local LeeMar rep is there. They said the rep could take a look at it and if he can't repair it on the spot, he would have the whole tank shipped back to the LeeMar factory in SoCal for repair at no charge.

Does this seem ridiculous to anyone else? I can't transport the tank by myself and what would I do with the fish??? I'm pretty frustrated about this and could use some advice. Should I see if the LeeMar rep will come out to my house to take a look at it?

IN the meantime, I have lowered the water level to about 2 inches below the plastic trim so it no longer is dripping. Could it just be condensation build-up seeping through the silicon seal? I really don't want to try and re-silicon it. I've tried that before on a used tank and it ended up bursting about an hour after I filled it....

I would slowly fill the tank up until it starts to leak. Find out where it is leaking from. There's no way it can leak from the middle of the tank unless there is an obvious crack/hole which would be visable. Chances are it has a slow leak from one of the corners and is running down the trim lip. Once you find out where I would drain the tank a couple inches below the spot and lay a thin bead of clear silicone. That's all they are going to do. Screw shipping the tank back. What a pain in the ass! Or I would demand a new tank shipped to my house so I can do a tank swap and they can take the old one back and fix and re sell. Good luck.

Thanks for the advice. The leak looks like it is coming from the the top seam, at the center and dripping straight down the front of the glass. I might just try adding some silicon and see if that works. I'm so annoyed. I shelled out the cash for a new tank to avoid this...

How much water do you have in your tank that it could even leak from there? I only have aqueon tanks, but to fill it where the glass and plastic trim meets the water would be touching the glass lids. Can you just lower the water level a little, so it doesn't leak, but is still hidden behind the black trim?
