moba frontosa are really really pretty. that or 7 stripes. you could keep like a trio of haps in there too.

Marbled hap looks niiiiiiiiiiiiice. Saw some other nice ones too. I bet they are pricey no? Id have to get them larger than my polys could eat.

They remind me of flowerhorns if that's not what they are. Someone was today offering me a large flowerhorn but id expect trouble because everything I look up says agression.

Ahh. Yes, my ph is usually low 6.4ish because of the large driftwood. So +1 discus.

Way too low ph for haps. Most of them like 8s. I bet you could find some that would live however.

You could do a ton of different bigger American cichlids. Besides price the struggle with discus is water parameters, especially with ph. If your normal tank is 6 I'd say try discus. Lots of mildy aggressive other cichlids would work too. I have a blackbelt and as Oscar with my poly living fine, had severums in there too until the blackbelt killed them. You could also go with datnoids as well.

I'd say some flowerhorns are one of the top 5 most aggressive fish in the hobby. No chance in hell would that work out IMO.

Forget rays with angels my ray killed them she just ate There heads it don't matter if they don't fit in there mouth they will still kill them eventually same goes with discus plus discus have been know to pick at rays a good mix with rays would be indo tiger dats they are nocturnal aswell so don't go docile when the lights go out. Either keep a small group or just 1 but try to get dats that are a good size like 4 inch plus if your going to put them with a baby ray because data tend to be slower growers than rays this gives them a good head start but there is no definite guarantee rays can strike just when u think all is good.

Def not angels at this point... so scratch that...

Can I ask why not angels?

I figured the long tails and extensions would be easy targets for the polys and the ray to get a hold of.

I have seen some nice dats but I was trying to add some color to my tank. Maybe ill have one in there. The lighter ones look really good with the dark bands. Expensive but not too bad. A kid I got some polys from a while back had some niceeeeee dats several differnt kind but he was spending cheese.

Thanks for the heads up on the rays eating the discus n angels. Saved me that horror. Lol
