Hi all, I've decided to turn my 150 gallon tank into a discus tank. I ordered a couple juvies to grow out and they will be going into a 55 gallon empty established tank for now. The 150 is completely empty and very new to me. It came with a sump which is all hooked up and running, without filter media. My question is what to put in the sump, like I said I'm very new to it, I've actually never had a tank with one before. I did order seachem's purigen and matrix. Will those be sufficient in bags in the sump? Do I need bioballs...plants any of that? Is there a certain way to set it up, one thing before the other? Also I read carbon is not good for discus, is there an truth to that? Is it needed? Thanks in advance for the help.

I've actually been reading from that site, I ordered the discus from Kenny. I'm just not finding anything about sumps. Not even from googling it!

Read in the Setup & filtration section of this site for some good sump info. But you should be fine w/ the matrix, bio balls & plants are not necessary. No carbon. Also good choice going w/ Kenny. He's one of the best out there. Post some pics.
