Hey everyone! I finally figured out how to post... so, here I am. Just starting out again with a few small fish in a way too small tank. I'm looking into doing a large trout, steelhead, and sucker (coldwater/ fw) tank soon if I can get any kind of a decent size tank into the dorms next year. I'm looking at fishing the (unknown species) sucker and some trout out of some ponds on the upper N Fork of the South Platte River between Fairplay and Alma, CO.

Probably have a hard time trying to catch a trout and sucker small enough to put in a dorm tank. How big of a tank can you get in your dorm?

Catching trout and sucker minnows with a net is really fairly easy at this time of year. However, the trout tend to be highly cannibalistic and aggressive until they get larger.

The official rules for this year stated:

... you should clean
your aquarium in the cleaning room, not in the bathroom. Aquariums of more than 20
gallons must receive approval of the Resident Director.
Residence Life will not be responsible for the care of fish during school breaks (Semester, Spring, etc.), so you will need to
plan accordingly. you will not be able to enter your room during the breaks, so you must
either remove your fish or place an extended feeder in your tank...

So it's possible that I can get a larger tank, but I highly doubt anything larger than a 55 will be approved, and that's if my roommate is as crazy about fish as I am. If I get into a single room, there is a slight possibility that I may be able to get as much as a 75 gallon tank in.

I really don't know. Just hoping.
