I went through the wet spot in Portland and I spotted a ton of really awesome fish, but nothing that exactly tickled my fancy. Then, as I was heading out I seen a small tank with about 6 3"dovii.
Sooo, I got one. Currently its in a 29 planted with a banjo cat till it gets a little bigger and the 180g gets set up with new substrate,
The idea is that the 180 will be dedicated to the dovii, but I would like it to be heavily planted.. From my experience, most of the
time larger cichlids I've kept in planted setups have done well if the. Plants are grown in and are well placed near rocks and wood.
So, I'm looking for tips or information from anyone who has kept these monsters. Is it possible to keep a natural looking planted dovii setup?
Ive had luck with notoriously bad behaving cichlika such as green terrors, jack dempseys, red devils... So far its done well in its growout scene
But any experiences in anything near this would be appreciated.
