New dragon goby

I just bought a dragon goby today the guy at the l.f.s told me he is eating gold fish hes about 8 inch long. Before i go and try to give him a gold fish i wanted some feedback on this subject. I trust the words of fellow monster fish keepers.

Is this a saltwater dragon goby or a brackish goby? They will each have differing care/advice.

If it is FW the Goldfish will just end up as a tankmate as they are filter feeders.

Mine only ate brine shrimp and occasionally blood worms when it got bigger. They don't eat big prey items like goldfish. Also, make sure to keep his water brackish (using marine salt, not plain rock salt and not aquarium salt) to keep him thriving. Mine was quite a character when I had one.

agree, filter fish. looks mean with its teeth but you will need food that sinks. I would recommend using sand or very fine smooth gravel. as far as a tank mate will depend on tank size. Some have had them in fresh water but wont live as long or get the nice violet color. they will stay grayish in hue.

Oh this guy is fun to watch he will dash around stop chase every one else in the tank dash around some more then rest lol.
