I got my first dslr the other day. I am pretty new to photography in general. These are some of my first pics. Any and all comments and suggestions welcome. Thses are unedited/ uncropped pics. Also, in the flowers pic, see how some are in focus and some aren't? How can you get more of the pic in focus? Thanks for any help.:D

gonna have to wait for rallys, akskirmish, chaikita or cant remember his name LOL.... looks good for your first shoot... sister site aquatic photography be your best place for better feedback... what kind of dslr is it?

My advice with any sort of electronics is to first read the manual cover to cover. A lot of people never read the manuals that come with their devices and only ever end up using a small percentage of the devices potential power. This should also give you an idea of the basic photography terms such as aperture, f-stop and shutter speed. From there I would recommend you by a book or read up on the internet about basic photography techniques.

Oh yeah, to get all your flowers in focus try increasing your f-stop.

Thanks guys. It's an Olympus E-450. I joined Aquatic Photography a while ago, but I'm still a little shy. Seeing the pics on that site, I don't want to show up with my amature pics from my first day...Know what I mean?

Yeah, I definatly need to read the manual, actually all three of them hahaha. I was also thinking about getting a photography for dummies book or something. I have played with the settings a little, but I think that once I know what I'm supposed to be doing, it will make a lot more sense to me. I don't really know what I am adjusting or what affect that adjustment will have on other settings. I've got some learning to do.:)

WOW...im glad to see that the pike's I sold to you are doing great!!!! man...even the Jack dempsey looks great.. great shots....
