Well, I've been wanting to get a few of these little guys for a long time and at $10 a fish I couldn't resist. So I finally did. I picked up two and my buddy picked up two. For now I am keeping them in his tank until they put on a little size. The largest at about 1.5in you can see in pic 1, 3, and 4. The smallest one at about an inch you can see in pics 2 and 3. They are really starting to color up. Here they are. Hope you like em.

They are really bright for only being only around 1". I hope you got some healthy ones. Only time will tell. Good luck with them. Mine did not color up till he was 2.5" at around 1" he was dark not very blue.

What the heck here is before and Now photos.

Mine have changes a lot over the past 9 months. Its pretty cool to watch them grow. Can't wait to see how yours grow.

yours at 3.5" looks just like mine does, at the same size . . . these color changes are really something; every few months or so, you get a "new" fish . . .

And the ones that live long enough go through a drab "ugly" phase IMO, it seems their colors change more than any other CA/SA I've noticed. Not necessarily fading, but actual changing, seems strange.

These JD's in particular the OP picked up look very nice, I do hope they make it to adulthood, I would very much like to see adult pics!

Thanks for the comments. Snowflake311, yours did start off really dark. These guys started off almost white. I've been eyeing them for a while. They have been in the tank at the store my buddy works at for about a month now so we've kept a close watch on them. Unfortunately one of them has been acting funny and might be sick. After the last water change about 4 days ago, it quit eating and coming out as much. It's just been sitting in it's cave w/ fins clamped only coming out to chase off the other little guys when they get too close. I've turned up the temp a little and added some copper safe. If this doesn't work I guess I'm going to have to try something new. If anyone has any suggestions I'll take em.

The thing with these guys is some are weak and nothing you can do will save them. I think some are just born with genetic problems that kill them off at early ages. If you get a good strong one they are just as hardy as the normal ones. It's all about getting a healthy fish. But since they are so Line Bred many are just weak geneticaly. SO don't beat your self up if you do lose one it's not your fault. Good luck hope he makes it.

HAHA your right about the color change. It is like every few months you get a new fish.
