since my tsn got eatin last time ive givin up on him going in the 220. i broke down my nano reef and turned it into fresh just for anouther baby tsn. my africans are to aggressive for him now but when he gets about 4"(from what im reading wont take long) then i can put him in the 55 then the 220 when he grows big enough to hold his own in my 220. anyone thinkthe high ph of my african tank will bother him? i would think a catfish would be tobothered byit but you guys would know more then i would(never had one). so let me know ill keep ya updated on this little guys progress. thanks for everyones help!

by the way hes not even 2" ao no one jump down my throat for puttin him in a 15gal. he wont be there long. i spoil my fish if not anything else.

I think putting him in the 15 gal is a good idea. Not only will he not get eaten, but you can make sure he is eating. I would say leave the tank bare bottomed. This will make tank mantainence easier (make sure there isnt uneaten food or lots of poop), and its only a grow out tank so apperarance isnt important. He willl do good in there by himself. If you get him at 2" you can exspect him to hit 4" in about 3-4 weeks if well fed (thats what mine did).

I donk know if putting him in with the africans is a good idea. The pH will probably be way too high for him, and the africans will probably nip at his wiskers.

I would suggest just leaving him in the 15 gal untill he hits the 7"-8" range and then move him over to the big tank, but idk how big the fish are in that tank. How big are they? If you do leave him in the 15 gal make sure you do a 20-25% water change every week, and dont forget to cycle the tank before you put him in there. This will help him grow faster and stay healthier.

good luck with your tsn.
thay are the best catfish i have and my fave.mine is all most 2ft long and so friendly.
good luck with yours.

the biggest fish in my 220 are my oscars of corse. about 6". i think he should be good enough to go in that tank at 6" as long as he is about thier size he'll be ok. just dont want the poor guy gettin eatin again... i really thought the barbs would hold them off. i guess the lesson is dont underestimate the appetite of oscars lol. ill keep ya updated.

he was suckin up blood worms in the store bro, hope he grows fast

Good luck they are nice fish!!
